Four priorities, focused on the things District 6 families feel every day.
Every family deserves to feel safe walking their own block. Katie believes safety starts with the people who live here, not with plans handed down from the top. Through Virtual Community Action Planning, or VCAP, residents help design safer streets in their own neighborhoods. The best solutions come from the people who live them every day.
Housing is the foundation of stability. Without it, families struggle, workers leave, and communities fall behind. We need to build more housing, faster, and make sure everyday Nevadans can afford to live where they work and raise their families. Katie will work to pass the Nevada Housing Supply and Affordability Act, which increases housing supply, lowers the barriers to building, and opens more pathways to owning a home.
For too long, the line between North Las Vegas and Las Vegas has created gaps in safety, housing, and opportunity. Katie will work to establish a Sister City framework that encourages joint planning, shared resources, and coordinated investment across city lines, because the challenges we face do not stop at a border and neither should our solutions. Working with the Governor's Office of Economic Development and using Opportunity Zones, she will put communities at the center of the decisions. The VCAP Act sets up a statewide framework for community-driven, data-informed planning that lines public funding up with real neighborhood needs.
Nevada's children have fallen behind, ranking near the bottom of the country in proficiency. Katie will work to establish the STEM and Family Values Act to prepare our children for the future, giving them the skills to succeed, the support of their families, and the foundation to build strong lives. When we connect education, family, and opportunity, every student in Nevada gets a real path to success, not just to graduate, but to thrive in life.
When big projects and public money come to Southern Nevada, the families of District 6 should be first in line for the work, not last. Katie will fight to keep opportunity close to home.
Issues are only as good as the person fighting for them. Here is how Katie gets things done for District 6.
Safer streets, homes families can afford, good local jobs, and schools worth bragging about.
One District 6, every background and every street, working from the same table.
Brings jobs, small business, and investment into the district.
Makes decisions with the community, not for it.
Cuts the red tape and follows through.
Knows how the laws, agencies, and services work, so families never have to fight it alone.
If these priorities are your priorities, there is a place for you in this campaign.
